About William M. Denevan

Professor Denevan, Berkeley Alumnus, is Professor Emeritus of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His projects involve the study of aboriginal cultivation in Venezuela, aboriginal forestry in Amazonian Peru and the terracing in the Colca Valley in Peru. In 2001 he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
