This service is part of UMI's ProQuest Digital Dissertations, an online database of dissertations submitted to UMI for publication. Through the UMI site you can search citations and abstracts of dissertations from all UC campuses. You can also view 24-page previews of dissertations published after 1996 or download for free the full text of dissertations and theses published after 1996. Downloading is possible from any networked campus computer or from home with a modem and Berkeley Home IP account. (Home IP accounts are available only to registered Berkeley students and current staff and faculty.) Instructions on using the service, as well as on searching the complete ProQuest Dissertations Abstracts International database, are available through the UC Berkeley Library website.

Library Material Photoduplication Services

Should you require photocopying of journal articles or reproduction of photographic material such as prints, negatives, microfilm, or slides, Interlibrary Lending Service offers fee-based services for a variety of material in the Libraries at Berkeley. Visit their website for more information.
