Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) who are appointed for at least 25 percent time for the entire semester and Graduate Student Researchers (GSRs) appointed 25 to 44 percent time for the entire semester are eligible for the partial in-state fee remission totaling $1,087.50 for the spring semester and coverage of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) premium fee of $226. Students who receive a SHIP waiver from University Health Services because they have proof of equal or better coverage are not eligible for the SHIP remission.
For Readers, Tutors, Nursery School Assistants, and Community Teaching Fellows who are appointed for at least 25 percent time or greater, the coverage will continue at the rate of $600 partial fee remission per semester and $182 SHIP premium fee remission per semester.
GSRs who are appointed at 45 percent time or greater for the entire semester are eligible for the full in-state fee remission totaling $1,978.25 and coverage of the $226 SHIP fee, unless they have a SHIP waiver.
To receive the remission, your appointment must be for the entire semester, you must be registered by the end of the third week of classes (February 5, 1999), and you must be enrolled for a minimum of eight units.
